Welcome to Water Scents! Inspired by the beauty of Newport, Rhode Island, our founders participated in beach clean-ups that sparked their desire to start a company prioritizing the health of our Earth. We are a sustainable and environmentally friendly bath and body products company, committed to giving everyone a chance to be environmentally conscious. Our focus is on high-quality, beautifully scented products, packaged in cruelty-free, vegan, compostable, and recycled materials. Our efforts are to work towards a cleaner and healthier Earth! Q&A With Our Founders: Why Did You Create Water Scents?

Laura: “Being a mother I wanted to make sure that my kids had a chance to grow up in a safe environment and would be able to use products that are safe for not only them but also the earth. I also noticed the amount of everyday personal products that people use that promote wellness and sustainability but in actuality contain ingredients that are harmful to the earth. I wanted to create a product that encompassed the true mission of sustainability from the sourcing of the fragrances to the ingredients used to the packaging itself.”

Kenny: “ When we started Coughlan Products we started off by making products for other businesses and they were a hit. Our business started to grow and we thought to ourselves, if we can do this for others, why not create our own brand and sell products that we wish were on shelves and would want to use.” 

Mark: “I have been into environmental work for a large part of my life especially when I used to live in Newport, Rhode Island. I would volunteer in beach clean-ups and saw the amount of plastic and trash that was in our oceans and had washed up on our beaches. I wanted to create something to combat that issue.  So I sought to create a product that was completely eco-friendly, especially with the packaging, so when the packaging is thrown out it can be easily recycled.”

What makes SCENTS

Curious about the scents in our products? Here’s our scent lineup! Our bath bombs feature a lemon/cardamom/sage bath bomb and a lavender choice. For our shower steamers, we have another lovely lavender scent and a eucalyptus mint. Additionally, our body wash bar is infused with fresh rain, while our bubble bath shark and shampoo bars, shaped like sharks, smell like coconut.

By focusing on reducing plastic waste and offering decomposable, cruelty-free products, we contribute to the preservation of the planet, particularly the oceans. Water Scents Mission

Our founders, inspired by the beauty of Newport, Rhode Island’s coves, beaches and coastline, participated in beach clean-ups that ignited their desire to start a company focused on the health of our planet. Although the beaches and water were beautiful from a distance, their participation in beach clean-ups revealed the negative effects pollution had on our waters. This motivated them to help keep the world clean from pollution. Thus, Water Scents was born. Water Scents prioritizes sustainability within our practices and product creation and actively supports organizations that do so. Organizations such as Save The Bay and Ocearch receive our support and contributions in order to help keep planet earth beautiful, lush, and green.
